White Ranch Park

Saturday, August 14th we took the fam to White Ranch Park for an adventure-filled morning of hiking, sightseeing, and nature exploration. It was so much fun. The trip was inspired by this Kelty carrier that I found at a garage sale for $10. We were so excited to use it. It worked great, but let me tell you that boy is HEAVY. Read more>>

Wyatt was so cute. He actually insisted on doing a lot of hiking and climbing himself. No complaints here. He loves anything outdoors. I can't wait to take him camping.
The boys. I love the Colorado Mountains and trees. It's so pretty everywhere you go. I love how Wyatt smiles for the camera now. He does this cheesy little grin. too cute!
King of the Mountain! Wyatt climbed up this rock and wanted to show everyone how big he was. I love that his tum tum is totally sticking out.

So, we're hiking the trail and we hear this loud rattling noise. We look over and there is a RATTLESNAKE literally right next to us. So scary! Luckily Wyatt was in the carrier at the time. Well we had to have proof, so Clark busted out the video camera and started taking video of it. We wound up chasing it away from the trail by tossing rocks (did you know it's generally illegal to kill rattlesnakes in CO?), but it was a wake up call. From here on out, if Wyatt is loose during a hike, he's going to be behind one of us and not side by side or running ahead.
